Privacy policy

Your photos stay on your device. You decide what stays.

Updated: November 6, 2026 · Developer: xiang chen

On-device photos and videos

SwipeAway uses Apple PhotoKit to access the photos, videos, Live Photos, and necessary information you authorize, such as dates, album membership, and photo identifiers. Previewing, sorting, and content recognition with Apple Vision happen on your device. Your media is not uploaded to a developer server or sent to a third-party recognition service.

Your permissions and deletion choices

You can change or revoke photo access in Settings. A left swipe only marks an item for deletion. Items are removed from your photo library after in-app review and system confirmation. Check Recently Deleted in Photos for recovery options. With iCloud Photos enabled, deletion can sync to your other devices. Apple explains deletion and recovery.

Records saved on your device

The app stores sorting progress, the pending deletion list, photo identifiers, category caches, settings, and daily free usage locally. These records let you resume sorting, avoid duplicate work, and apply the free limit. They are not sent to the developer. Uninstalling removes the app’s local data; Apple manages system backup and restore behavior. Uninstalling does not reverse changes already made to albums or deleted photos.

Purchases and restoration

Apple’s App Store and StoreKit handle the one-time purchase, payment, and refunds. The app verifies Apple-signed transactions and entitlements locally to determine whether to remove the daily limit. The developer does not receive your card details or payment credentials. The app does not send photos or transaction records to a developer server. Loading prices, buying, and restoring require an internet connection and are subject to Apple’s applicable privacy policies.

No app account, ads, or behavioral analytics

You do not need to create a SwipeAway account. There is no developer server storing your photos or sorting records, and no advertising, behavioral analytics, or cross-app tracking tools are embedded in the app. Apple independently provides Photos, iCloud, and App Store services.
