Help and support
Your photos stay on your device. You decide what stays.
How do I start sorting?
Swipe right to keep or left to mark for deletion. You can also use the ✓ and × buttons. Tap a photo for a larger view. To add it to an album, drag it to the right edge, hold briefly, then release over an album when the panel appears. Open “How to use” in the home menu to practice anytime. The tutorial only uses sample photos.
How does the daily free limit work?
You can handle 20 different items per local calendar day. A photo, video, or Live Photo counts as one item. Keeping, marking for deletion, or successfully adding to an album counts; previews, tutorials, failed actions, and cancellations do not. Handling the same item again after undo on the same day does not count twice, but undo does not refund usage. The 21st new item opens the purchase page. You can also continue when the free allowance refreshes the next day.
Lifetime purchase and Restore purchases
A one-time purchase removes only the daily quantity limit. It is not a subscription and does not renew automatically. All sorting features are available within the free allowance. The App Store shows the current price. After reinstalling or changing devices, use the Apple Account used for the purchase, connect to the internet, and choose “Restore purchases” on the purchase page. Purchases awaiting approval unlock automatically once approved.
Why won’t some photos load?
The app reads media already available on your device and does not automatically download iCloud originals. Open and download cloud-only photos, videos, or Live Photos in Apple Photos first, then retry in SwipeAway. If access is limited, adjust photo permission in Settings. Pull down on the home screen to refresh the library.
Why does automatic classification take time?
Recognition runs gradually on your device, so the first scan of a large library takes time. It continues while the Content view is open and pauses when you switch views or leave the app. Available categories can be used immediately, and results are saved locally. Classification can be imperfect. A photo may appear in more than one category but only needs sorting once.
Can I undo or recover a photo?
The top-right control undoes your most recent sorting action. A left swipe does not immediately delete anything; you review the list before confirming deletion. After deletion, check Recently Deleted in Apple Photos and its displayed recovery period. With iCloud Photos, deletion can sync across devices. See Apple’s recovery instructions.
